Solving & Addressing Problems

The Institute for Humane Education (a future SWS's partner), where Dr. Kendall received his master's degree as a humane educator for social change and justice, teaches its students to be solution-oriented. As Dr. Kendall's mentor taught him, the solution can be found in the problem; therefore, turn the problem into the solution you seek. In this section of the website, is exactly what the director of operations and the board of director seek to accomplish.

Some of our Pressing Needs, which your donated dollars will help fund, include the following, along with their respective rationale:

  • Ford F150 Pick-up Truck: Roads are hazardous; therefore, a safety concern, and a pick-up truck can earn monthly cash and haul debris, especially for recycling.

  • Portable Power Stations and Hot Water Heaters: We must provide means for washing clothes with hot water for all residents.

  • Refurbished Apple Computers and Global Walkie-Talkies: To ensure good communication flow.

  • Back-up Generators for each of the units: To ensure a continuous flow of power, since our power source is mainly hydro.

Use the Solutionary Framework™

Our award-winning Solutionary FrameworkTM is a tool anyone can use to assess local and global problems and create ethical, actionable solutions.

The four phases of the framework guide you to:

I. Identify a problem you are passionate about

II. Investigate the problem and its causes

III. Brainstorm solutions that do the most good and least harm

IV. Take action and implement your solution

The four-phase, 12-step process is described in detail with examples in The Solutionary Way.
